Re: Cake vending Vintage Slot

I remember a vending machine from the 1970s that vended a pint of milk in a glass bottle and orange juice in the same machine.
I think Penguin books had a vending machine also for their books.
How many different types of vending machine are there?

Re: British Mutoscope

I had one of the wooden mutoscopes I got it from a collector from the South Coast.
The case had a lot of woodworm, so I only kept the mechanism and viewing glass.

Re: South Shields Museum Seaside Exhibition

Looks like a nice collection of machines and a rare Myers Road Test also.
Are there any more pictures? I don't think I'll be able to get there for the exhibition.
Well done. Maybe it's time for a show like this in London.

Hi,
This is excellent. I have seen another variation with a pelican sitting on the pier.
These pictures are often missing or covered with a piece of glass.
Well done.

The scenic railway was not allowed to open because of health and safety rules. Each carriage now has to have a wire cage fitted to it so the riders don't fall out.

Re: gemini big ben

I was in Cork, Ireland about 5 years ago. I was trying to buy some machines from a fairground man and he was trying to give me four of these for free. They were massive. I did not take them and got no machines from him. The day was a total loss.

Re: Saffron Walden

I went to a few auctions there. I found them OK but no bargains. They were run by a man who also owns House on the Hill toy museum at Stansted Mountfitchet. I'm not sure why they finished but I think it would have been about 1998 or 1999 the last one I went to.

Re: Elephant House Auctions

The prices at yesterday's sale were up and down all day.
I think this was because collectors were only chasing the machines they didn't have.
When the Bryans machines were being sold you could have heard a pin drop. Everyone was waiting to see what prices they made.

Re: Bryans paint for internal mechanism

If you look in your local Yellow Pages or do a web search you will find automotive paint shops thats will make you a can of spray. I have used one in Romford, Essex and the blue colour for the mechanism was right. They have paper swatches and match the colour of your metal part.
Hope this helps.
