Re: Oliver Whales wood?
OK. Some confusion. Due to the pile of broken allwins I have I think the part I showed was actually from a Whales Allwin Deluxe, not the Easy 9, of which I have 3 in the pile! The Easy 9 does indeed appear to be oak. However the Deluxe is indeed a different wood. Don’t laugh at the state if it. It’l...

Re: Oliver whales wood?
Thanks. That’s interesting. I made a table in cherry once! I’ll take a look.
Interestingly my version of different to the pic above. That’s an oak case. Mine is the style with the flash in the top above the door and as stated in a different wood to that. The playfield is the same though.
Thanks

Oliver Whales wood?
So I'm working through my pile of Allwins to restore. I'm now embarking on an Oliver Whales Easy 9. The case isn't too bad but I'll need to make a new cash door as it's missing. Does anyone know what wood they used? It's not oak. I suspect it's a hardwood but not sure what. Maybe some weird redwood?...

Re: Hanno Moulin Rouge
I was just about to say I’ve got a full wiring diagram but then I see you have it already! I don’t think there’s anything more to add to that. It is the full circuit diagram. As for the manual, I guess there would have been one, probably in German, but never come across one when searching myself. It...

They look fab. Great job. I’ve never worked on a bandit before but keep thinking of looking out for to give it a try.

Yes - wondered about that. But the other bit to refit is the instruction flash which goes there - I forgot to mention that!!

Chipperfields restored and a question
Some of you may remember I was fortunate enough to bag a haul of allwins last year. Albeit in a pretty dire state of disrepair, woodworm and rot. Anyway after a few months distracted by restoring a few pinball machines I finally got motivated to work on another one of the alwins. This wonders chippe...

Re: Screen image zooming in size
Yes I’m on an iPad and yes still doing it. To be more precise it does it when returning to the forum index page. Ie if I’m looking at the list of articles and click one to view it that is fine. However if I use the back button to return to the index of articles it first appears at very small font si...

Re: Nutt & Muddle & Son "Come fly with me"
Nothing to lose with trying to clean up the circuit boards. I would remove them and then get at the green corrosion with some steel wool or any other tools you need to get at it. You do need to make sure you don’t leave any traces of the wool after of course. Most of the components are cheap and rea...

Re: Hanno Moulin Rouge
My machine moved on to a new owner a few months back. Sadly, as had I had the space I would have kept it!
As to where to get a new glass I really don’t know. I’ve seen very few machines online. One of the German forums might turn something up but suspect it’s a long shot. Good luck.

Yes that’s the type I’ve put in it but it’s a bit high pitched to suit. I wanted something with a deeper buzz to it!

D0B365E4-1872-46BE-80B7-762F74B4B47A.jpeg So for anyone interested, I finished the project I asked about a week or so back. Sadly I didn’t end up following a game idea. The switches are all linked so being able to select several choices at once wasn’t possible unless I’d introduced a transistor lat...

Re: Bryan’s clock face
My wonders machines all seemed to have a sheet of thickish acetate covering the cardboard printed backflash. On the ones I had to reprint I just printed on a thickish quality paper and then sourced some 440 micron acetate to the replace as the old stuff was very yellowed. I used large hole punches a...

Thanks for the great ideas! And wow - that race machine is impressive wacky and impressive, full stop! I’ve actually gone. A bit off piste from my original idea and decided to incorporate a Nixie tube clock into it. Never worked with one before so a good excuse. I’m also planning to put some randoml...

Re: Game ideas
That's an interesting idea. Now, how to do it....?! I guess a single sequence could be done with a few transistors in a chain. To get it changing the sequence I'd have to do something with a Pi or similar. Unless you know differently?
