1937 Shipman trade stim info please
I've been offered this trade stim at a good price, but I'm not sure about it. Does it qualify as a true trade stim? I guess it does but it doesn't seem to have enough going on to make it an interesting counter game in its day. I'm not even sure I like the look of it and I don't like almonds BUT you don't see Shipman machines very often (mostly their stamp vendors). I think this is the only machine they made that could be described as a trade stim and not just a vendor. Made by Shipman Manufacturing Co, Los Angeles in 1937.

There's a Shipman 'Select-A-Bar 4 column Table Model Vending Machine' in the October 10th Rosmalen sale.

One of the few machines I like in that auction is the lot before the select-a-bar which, I think , was also made by Shipman, the razor blade dispenser, Ive always liked the shape and the crazy idea of being able to by razor blades in the street 24/7, you could have made a fortune with one of those on every street corner in Glasgow in the 30'sThere's a Shipman 'Select-A-Bar 4 column Table Model Vending Machine' in the October 10th Rosmalen sale
