Interesting, in photo 2, all the cash boxes spread across the floor, although they would have only taken notes. Nowadays they don't even take many of those; intake is mostly direct charge to your stateroom and payout is by re-playable/cashable printout. Although Costa is owned by an American cruise line (Carnival Cruises) the currency unit on this ship would have been Euros not Dollars as Costa are European based. The size of casinos on cruise ships has shrunk considerably over the last 15 years as gambling has become legal in more and more US states making cruise ship gambling not such a unique experience for Americans. This is changing. Carnival is truly a massive company (their shares trade at over £150 each!) constantly looking for new markets. They are expanding into the Far East and enlarging the casinos to suit the Chinese/Korean market.
A shiny sixpence to anyone who can tell me where the world's largest casino is. !PUZZLED!

the worlds largest casino is indeed the Venetian Macau . It boasts 800 gaming tables and 3400 slots. It is the largest single building in Asia (the floor plan could hold 100 jumbo jets) its 8 millionth customer walked through the door just 133 days after it was opened. It is designed specifically to handle very short stay customers, mostly from main land china and the front desk handles over 3000 check ins and outs per day.
the shiny sixpence goes to bod...it is available for free collection or customer arranged courier ,there will be a nominal handling charge of 2.5 np :D

where as most cruise ships tend to have a subdued and even classy décor Costa are always exactly the opposite, boasting the gaudiest, trashiest and most unpleasant public areas of any cruise line, and the casino is the worst, in the first photo you can see the ornate pillars still viable in the wreck photo .Looks very much like an arcade in Clacton I used to use in 1965 but with new machines.
