Re: ABT Target Skill restore
Great game, the most fun of all the ABT pistols because of the animated target gallery. They packed a lot into such a small game.

Re: ABT Target Skill restore
I like these, I think they're splendid!
However no good in a house with small children as I found out to my grief years ago.
I kept mine on a waist high shelf, and only just caught it as a visitor's small sticky child was pulling it off by the gun grip in an attempt to brain itself.
I then kept it on the floor so it had no where to drop if some meddling kid with a death wish couldn't respectother's property my property.
Within a month another pest visiting and being ignored by its Mother was running around the room when it clumsily tripped over its own oversized floppy feet. In the process of measuring its length it shoved both hands through the glass top FFS!
Fortunately most of the blood hit the metal trough the balls lie in and was easily cleaned.
The main advantage was the parent immediately removed it from my house, I imagine to dispose of it somewhere suitable and never came back. Irritatingly she never sent me the £25 I shouted after her, that she owed me for the broken glass. I can only imagine she was too embarrassed. Oddily my wife at the time (whichever it was) didn't talk to me for about a month, so that was good.
I might get another one now. Nobody has brought a child within a quarter of a mile of me in years.

I've never found dealing with children easy, even when I was one myself.
I remember when Joe 90 first appeared on TV, my first thought was 'I want to hit that specky kid!'.

Re: ABT Target Skill restore

Hi, a quick gaze at the first photo in rneccano » Fri Nov 08, 2019 12:12 am post shows his machine stripped.
A clockwork mechanism connected to the reset lever suggests something is timed in operation.
Having a shufty for ABT model F Target Skill on Bing which I regard as quite naff compared to Google brings up a nice little video by John Zuk (no relation to my Uncle "Gordon Beadman", different name completely you see?)
It shows it all in glorious stereo-colour

Re: ABT Target Skill restore
They use a clockwork motor that lifts only one ball into view at any given time using cams, so you have to constantly re-aim. The guns give ten shots and the clockwork when properly restored will lift the balls into view 15 times, so you can't dawdle! Only two models use this system, the earlier mid 1930's red and yellow deco style case in solid wood, and the later blue blue clamshell topped model circa late 1930's with masonite case.

Re: ABT Target Skill restore
These are unbeatable for the amount of gameplay to game size. Very clever mechanism.
