Sad news

Post by mr merrivale »

You may have heard, if not, it is with great sadness that my freind and owner of Wookey Hole, including the large old penny arcade, Gerry Cottle passed away yesterday.
A larger than life operator and will be sadly missed by all.

Did not know him and never went to his arcade, but very sad, another victim of this pesky virus causing us all to go mad. :!?!:

Very sad news indeed. I just heard today. I met Gerry a few times over the years at auctions, and have visted Wookey before and since Gerry took over. He did a great job of injecting new life into Wookey. I especially enjoyed the area devoted to clowns. The Arcade was always good fun. Great loss.

Very sad news ... a great showman and a great Character
I would greatly recommend reading his book ... "confessions of a showman" a great, entertaining, shocking and very funny read...

all the best ... Dicky

Yes, very sad.
For those who have not been to Wookey Hole, a few pics of this lovely arcade, taken about 5 years ago

I have just seen this post. How dreadfully sad. I met Gerry on a few occasions. Another legend leaves us. Sincere condolences Peter and to those who knew him. His legacy lives on.
