Re: 1933 Mechanical Slot Machine Restoration
An interesting video. Thing that surprised me was just how fast the reels spin when the machine is, to all intents, returned to its factory condition.

The reel brakes look slack.
So with all the grease removed and I imagine everything calibrated except the reel brakes, that speed is to be expected.

Amazing, so many hours must have been put in on this. Impressed as to the careful removal of lables for re-use, but wonder why he felt it necessary to reproduce the instruction sheet on the back of the door as it looked no worse than the lables. Surprised that he buffed up the damper tube for the handle to such a polish. I guess he was trying to return the machine to a factory finish. This of course is the difference between restoration and preservation.

I suspect this has much to do with him being a company that sells restored slots rather than him being a collector.

Absolutely amazing. Wish I had a sand blaster.
Should the handle and collet be painted or re chromed?
Still fantastic - gonna watch the mechanical video next.

Great replies on this video, especially key brilliant experience chaps on this forum, however, the guy who did the restoration whether being in it for the money or not is not is not essential for the cause. Keeping these great masterpieces going is so important and anyone who has the ability and knowledge to maintain / fix / show off their skills via social media is a must!
Anyway, cheeky question, been looking for claw feet for my bandit cabinet. Anyone please direct me to a website to get them, been all over the internet to no avail?
Thank you, Brian...
