Brilliant job, well done.
Is that one of the Retro-Arcade chocolate machines on the far right?

Yes well spotted! Tried to hunt one down for a while now (the real article) even had a word with me ole mate Ray Roberts who used to make them, and couldn't find one for my life. Hoping to exchange this one for a proper Parkers Carousel when I can!

Very cool! Two questions: can we see the machines on the left side? What tunes you playing on the speakers? :)

No doubt there will be some Russ Conway tunes! Rule Britannia may be fitting! :D

Some good time fairground music, a bit of rock 'n' roll and a bit of northern soul; it's the job I'm the most excited about, picking the tunes! :HaHa: Small things!

That's great - combined with the bright colours of the stall, the sound of the steel balls rattling around and the pennies dropping, all you need now is a candy floss machine to wrap all those sensory sensations into an authentic 1950s - 1960s experience - superb.

Please remove if not acceptable, but just wanted to show those interested in the Penny Arcade and how we have it set up now. We've taken it out on the road a couple of times, but mainly for paid hire events, this weekend just gone, we took it out for a garden centre Christmas event and we were surprised how popular it was! We'll be going there again this weekend, and it gives our 14 year old son 'something useful' to do at the weekend too! Hope you enjoy the video.

I thought I recognised the stall and realised you have a lovely range of fairground items for hire. A colleague of mine who knows of you and Paul does similar stuff down my way in Suffolk, excluding a penny arcade. I threatened to add an arcade to his inventory as I would love to have a go. Also think hire rates are very reasonable and everything is in such perfect condition. !!THUMBSX2!!

I tell you what too, the amount of folks who say it gave them such wonderful memories of playing on the machines in their younger days was just fabulous to see. I think I prefer public events with the arcade (I know the money is better with paid hire) as you get to see real enjoyment on people's faces; such a treasure.

Thank you! Taken my time with it and still more machines on my wish-list (it's a disease, isn't it! :HaHa: ), but really happy with how it's been well received by the general public, they clearly love the old time aspect of it.

Ahh all hobbies gone wrong I should say! :HaHa: Yes, I started as a gaff lad minding the dodgems in North Wales and then drifted into being a fairground artist, so luckily I can pretty much put my hand to most building/paint jobs. My heart has always been in penny machines though, and it's only taken 40 years or so, to get it altogether into a workable arcade. The hires have allowed me to pay for the machines, and building materials. As much as I use the paid hire to live and reinvest, the public work is fantastic for work satisfaction; I've loved seeing folks playing on the machines, and all the lovely comments we get. Would it bring in a liveable wage in the right place? Probably not, unless you do as I do, some paid hire, some in the field. But I'm still saying go for it! No more threatening, get that arcade of yours into the inventory and just do it! I doubt any of us will be millionaires, but job satisfaction, bringing social pastimes back for youngsters (who loved playing the machines), was just such a great feeling. !!THUMBSX2!!
