Evening all,
I just made a trade and scored these two nice ones. The disc in this Comet is blanco so no numbers. Will try to figure out how the mechanism is working this weekend. The reels of the Comet don't spin properly, so a new adventure. Because I know you like pics, here's a quicky.
Greetings

I like these.
I can't find a photo of the Marvel with that particular grooved case. The other one is interesting - it's a 1950 "non-coin Comet" made from Duval parts bought up by Comet when Duval closed down.

I thought the Marvel only had two grooves in the case, but looking at it again I think it's just the way the photo is shadowed.

Thanks for that coppinpr, just made a start of cleaning a lot of dirt so i can see the parts :HaHa: . When i Pull the handle the mech works, the only thing not happening is that the reels get a 'kick' to spin. For the rest iT Will make it's cycle. Someone can tell me what can cause this? Thanks in advance!

I'll dig my version out later and have a look. Is the kicker moving into position to push the reels?

Just took the Comet to take a look at the mechanism. When I pull the handle, the reels only get a push and not a kick. It looks that the handle don't go far enough to give the kick. When I put the mechanism in the Marvel case it's the same problem. When the mechanism is out of the case and I will do it with a screwdriver it will give the kick.
Anyone an idea? I don't :!?!:

Start by checking the arm movement on the case with the mech out,see if its giving full movement that would be transfered to the mech if it was in the case

Thanks for that coppinpr, but that's not the problem I found out. I don't know the mechanism, so have to discover everything. After trying several things it seems to be the roller that is hit by the pin that releases the mainlever. The roller that is riveted has a little space, so he is just a little bit downwards and too late to release the main lever.
Now the reels get a kick on the ... each time I pull the handle. :HaHa:
Does anybody know if the sticker with numbers for the disc are somewhere available?

paul i am sure it should be set at the correct size if it was to be printed on a4 paper, i done mine white but you may want to tone it down a bit if you prefer.
