Slot machine cabinet build

Post by scamper »

Hi guys, I have been searching for ages for some info (diagrams, sizes, cut list etc.) for building a slot machine cabinet. I have purchased all of the electronics from china and have got it all working on the bench, and now need to build a cabinet to house it all in.
I have a mate who can do all the cutting in his workshop and another who is going to make the coin tray.
But what I thought would be a challenge, is getting frustrating. :dammit:
If anyone has built one before, or just seen some diagrams somewhere, that would be helpful.
This all started as my wife loves the pokies and used to go to the casino a fair bit, but we moved to the country, so I thought I would give her a birthday present (and I get to keep the profit  )
Thanks in advance.

Wow, you sound to be going to a whole heap of trouble, time and cost. Are second hand cabinets not cheap over there? They are here. Just buy an old one, rip the guts out and build yours into it.

You can't even buy them here. They don't allow them to be sold, so if you do get anything it has no guts and they want a fortune for it.
Government gambling laws!
I was actually surprised I got the electronics through customs.

Hi Scamper and welcome.
Your mention of "electronics from China" proves you're talking of what we old timers would call a modern machine, but I assume they don't all come in identical cabinets. !PUZZLED! This may not be the best forum to find help on account of the "modern", but if you tell us the name of the machine you're hoping to build someone might suggest something...

yes I do want to build a modern machine, I already have an old 10c Aristocrat machine that I got working with the help of you guys and thought there may be someone here that has ventured down the same road.
If not it is all good, I just need to use my noggin and do some drawings.
