Presumably a forerunner to the Ace-Hi Playmaster by Vic Mfg. Co.

Thanks for the link pennymachines. I started that one too.................

If anyone has more pictures of that particular model, I would be appreciative of any, either interior or exterior.

A change from Ainsworth or Nutt & Muddle, then?
I had heard there was a third Aussie manufacturer. Is this one of theirs?

There were more than three in the early days. Aside from Nutt & Muddle & Sons Pty. Ltd., Ainsworth Dental Equipment Co. and the Ace-Hi Amusement Co. Pty. Ltd. (Vic Walker Mfg. Co.), there was Charles Shelley Pty. Ltd., Apex Amusement Co. Pty. Ltd., Middlehurst, and Australian Engineers Metal Stampers Pty. Ltd. Chances are, there are more obscure ones I've not heard of. There's very little information to be found online. I've compiled what I have in Pokies from Down Under.

Did you mean your model (Deluxe) or the Paymaster? There's another variant of the Paymaster pictured in said Arena article.

Speaking of which - do you have a bigger image of Ace-Hi Deluxe which I can add to the Gallery?

The other one the "Ace-Hi Deluxe" Mr Pennymachines

Have emailed the auction house...perhaps Sydney knows.....................

I hadn't realized the part protruding out centrally of the "escalator glass" looks to be coin reject return chute? Maybe it's an Aristocrat mechanism inside of an ACE HI cabinet? There also doesn't seem to be anything behind the top glass window......well not currently... maybe the same reason for this?

Well got a picture of the inside with backdoor off, confirms aristocrat mech. However, they didn't send a picture of the insides above the top of the backdoor, which was the area I was particularly interested in. Not sure if a back bonnet is same/similar in this model to that of a hitop? e.g. easy to remove for picture.

Item was unsold/passed, have asked for more pictures, will post if they send.

In Australia, Des sent Andy P the following photos and confirmed it was an Aristocrat mech.
Andy sent it to me, so I'm putting it up here ……… (click on photo to enlarge)

Hi jaysrestorations ....

Welcome to our forum, we have very few contributors from Oz.
When you have time we'd love to see photos of the mech and inside the case .... |/XX\|

Hi Jay,

I thought I recognised your name as I've seen your restorations on the Collectors Weekly site. Lovely work on those Aussie machines. I think the last one you posted on there three weeks ago is also Australian rather than Mills.

Anyway, good to have you on board as a few of us here love machines from down under, obviously including myself. !!THUMBSX2!!
