24% with VAT but in fairness, they have a shed load of staff and it is run very efficiently and best of all it was local..... to me. !!THUMBSX2!!

Our inhouse auction reporter I assume is otherwise engaged, but all the figures are online still.

Summary of key machines below, some reaching way over estimate others below....Pussy Shooter as below went for £520. All numbers exclude the 24% for fees with vat and of course if people bid online additional 3%.

The Peerless machines were cheap, also the octagonal Mutoscope seemed cheap, but was locked. I was interested in the Brooklands Racer, but felt the estimate was too high, had the jackpot removed as well.

The Electric Crystal Gazer in my opinion had the best presence, looked awesome. The Caille floor standing strength tester looked the part and in very very unrestored condition....

Early Nestle vendor. £680
Doughty and Barrett Racer £6000
Mills bandit £740
United automatic shock machine £480
Bryans Ant viewer £250
German grip tester £460
Mills viewer £480
Mini Conveyor £400
Two Peerless viewers £200 each
Little Stockbroker £170
Allwin Deluxe £560
Olly whales Olwin £520
Octagonal Mutoscope £1400
Bryans clock £400
National duck hunter £140
Bryans Bullion £460
Brooklands Racer no sale
Challenger £440
The Smithy £440
R&W Nestle £580
Ball Past the Arrow £540
Electric Crystal Gazer £3000
Laughing Sailor £800
Monkey Climber £1600
Mutoscope crane £1100
Mutoscope crane £1900
Green Ray no sale
Ahrens Palmistry £1700
Steam Shovel £860
Pussy Shooter £520
Caille strength tester £2600

I went to view the collection the day before they went up for sale, as I couldn't be there on the day.

I did however manage to come away with the steam shovel and a few others. Will be picking them up over the next few days...

If treefrog would like to contact me, I can put him in touch with the owner of the Brooklin bandit. Spoke on the phone with him this morning described sale as "car crash".

I bought the R&W "Win a Nestles" allwin. The machine was advertised with keys but it took some while at the auction house to find which one opened the allwin door. We couldn't find the cashbox draw key. I have since learnt that it was definitely in the machine prior to the auction sale and that the key was in a basket of spare keys held at the auction house. Unfortunately, the 'spare' keys have since been returned to the owner. Would someone mind contacting the owner to see if I could collect the key either from him or at the next auction? Thanks ever so...

They also returned one of my lots "accidentally" to the seller as they believed it hadn't sold, which it definitely had. They gave me a refund for it and apologised...

Last time they had some nice machines in I won the large horse race game at 5 times estimate. The day after I paid and they took it outside and left it to the weather without informing me. Luckily I arrived that day and it was fine. Not a lot of service for their 27% buyers premium !!RANT!! and I promised never to bid there again. Pity the vendor didn't put them in the Elephant House were we could have picked them up at our pleasure or even had them delivered. They would have probably made more money as well. Rant over.
