Do you have to register for the elephant house auction. If so how?
Thanks

having been at Coventry but not at the Elephant house auction I was interested to check out the results there. Bottom line, seemed to me, it was a buyers market with a few exceptions. The allwins seemed to do very well but the slots no so with the exception of the Mills and a nice looking (on line anyway) Jennings. When you look at all the items sold that day most seem to have sold for about £50 (signs etc) the fairground stuff seemed to do well but all in all better to sell at Coventry, better prices and lower commission and, I suspect, better quality machines. one example that caught my eye ,a Buckley mech on 6d for £55 when a similer lot went for over £150 at Coventry !OMFG!

I won a few bits at the last auction, Steve was going to package them up and send me a combined invoice with shipping. Ive not heard a peep since despite numerous chaser emails and ive tried to call a couple of times too. Shame as they were useful bits too and I have no idea what happened to them.!

Ive had stuff from him before and have had generally a reasonable transaction on each occasion minus a couple of slight issues with the items themselves but that more as a result of me not going to view them and bidding blind - that said better pictures would have helped I guess.

I notice there is another auction coming up however very few lots at the moment and as you say very little activity and no emails etc.

I was referring to the twitter posts not the 4 early entries, there are two pictures of the elephant house auction room showing some machines in the auction, and his post as to why he has been quiet.

Might have been a few other items too if they would only respond to my enquiries. What is the point of having a contact service if they can't be bothered to get back. Seems a bit rude to me. There is nothing in their FAQ's related to putting items in the auction. No phone numbers available either. I guess they have their preferred group of sellers and don't want anyone else interfering. Back to eBay I suppose. Their loss.

Regarding emailing and not getting a reply, I did exactly the same twice now ( a few weeks apart) emailed and got immediate 'hello your message received' and then nothing at all....

Yep, I got that reply twice, too, moonriver, but absolutely no follow up. I won't bother them again. Looking forward to Coventry but that's November, isn't it?

Well it will eventually appear publicly, especially when the contents are agreed and everyone realises it's the first auction dedicated to this particular manufacturer. If only because members will talk about it here.
However, wouldn't you say that anyone who doesn't invest £26 a year to have 10 issues of the only magazine dedicated to their hobby delivered to their door is missing out on something? :!?!:
