Unusual 1975 German wall machine on ebay
Never seen one of these before, made by Heinz Melchers, Aug 1975, this machine doesn't seem to be listed on the excellent Automatix site which is very unusual.
The nearest translation of "Fiffikus" I can find is "Crafty Thing"

I always emit a high pitched "AH!" when I see circuit boards with little plasticky, bobbly bits attached.

Blimey if you've got it, it must be one of the most travelled machines around. It was on ebay a few times listed by someone in the west country and then resurfaced listed a couple of time by one of our regular contributors in the north east.
I think it has a look of the NSM Super Match or Jamieson Mini Match previously seen on these pages.

I'm not sure this hasn't been in Harold English's hand at sometime. He had a habit of sticking the new coinage next to the slot (if that is new 1p, I can't tell from pic) and of typing up "words of one syllable" instructions too.
Not sure the "fiffikus" doesn't derive from "pfiffikus" which can mean "sharp fellow" (a kind of slant on "crafty thing" maybe) which may also point towards "sharpshooter" being the theme of the game.

yep, it is one of Harold's. He never really got the hang of lower case text, it simply was not loud enough for him..

oh, my brain has caught up now, I didn't read Paul's post properly so assumed he was the new (proud??) owner, hence my comment on it's well traveled history. Still a bloody awful looking machine though, good luck shifting it.
