I have just had a thought regarding the EH/ Coventry dilemma, whilst grouting the tiles on my shower !!IDEA!! , I was wondering if the answer to all our woes would be if Steve had a preview of his auction on Saturday 26th.
It would give those of us dithering, a chance to look at the machines in E H and leave an absentee bid, plus cash deposit with Steve, and still go to Coventry on Sunday. A win, win situation.
Come on Steve I know you look at this Forum, what about it??

I think that might defeat the object of his plan which is clearly he doesn't want people to go the Coventry.

I hope this doesn't happen next year, most inconvenient.
I won't be going to either now as short on funds, good luck to all those with the cash to spend!

I am not wishing to take a side on the Coventry v Elephant house situation and clearly very strong views are held on both sides. I have spoken to Mr Hunt last week and he has said he will be available to view on Saturday afternoon I have arranged to visit at around 4pm on my way to Coventry where I am staying overnight and joining the group of people at the Saturday night banquet. The EH auction starts at 1pm and will start viewing soon after 9am so there is time to view and leave a bid before going on to Coventry and spending the day in the warm! I believe that Mr Hunt's auction is totally fair and a bid left will be treated as such, as other members have testified. A last thought Mr Hunt usually comes and bids at Coventry,in fact he bought last years star lot the cast iron footballer so why would he try to destroy our sale? I know that Mr Hunt is a very hard man to contact I have found the best way to get a response is to text but no guarantee's!

Well spotted TF - I was wondering who would be the first to spot that.
The descriptions are correct, it's the pictures that are the wrong way round....
Will fix shortly.

I've had a good look through the posts on this thread - yes it is a shame both auctions are the same day, but at different times, people can visit both.
Coventry appears, to me, to be the 'people's choice', whilst Ele' House is the 'collector's choice'.
Either way you look at it, I must say one thing - putting together sales - particularly dedicated sales - of slot machines is VERY hard work. Lots to do pre, during and after the sale(s) in question. I should know; I've been directing auctions since 2003.
At least these sales are at different times, and what a listing of gear in both. I know what I'm thinking and typing may be on the safe-diplomatic side, but those going to Coventry and EH may be assured of a great day.
No one should lose out here. What an opportunity.
My hats off to the organisers of Coventry and EH for getting all this up and live.
I know its easy to say, but for years, (and I still am), I get on the phone to my competitors at the end of the year and we have a sale date conference where we deliberately miss each other within 3 days minimum.
Good luck to all who view and buy at the sale - fingers crossed the A45 is clear and free for you all.

Where the hell is the A45 !PUZZLED!

Anyway, the auctions are at the same time, EH start time 1pm and I believe Coventry is always 12.30 (although the time is not actually written on the website or in this thread...hint hint)...... so only a 30 min variance.......

Yes, you're quite right - the Coventry auction starts at 12.30.......
As stated at the top of every page listing of the catalogue on the website, and also on the downloadable PDF.

The A45 runs from Brum round the back of Cov to meet M45 which in turn hits the M1.
I highly recommend it to anyone leaving the Coventry auction on their way to Leamington Spa. When you get to Luton don't forget to turn right.

Some very nice machines at both auctions but, if I had any money, I would be at Coventry. Two of the machines on my list of 'I wants' are there. :#:

Plus, I like bacon butties!

Good luck to all collectors this weekend.

Dear John Son of Peter.
I anticipate the time that you are visiting here and it coincides with an auction.

I feel safe that consensus opinion would support the idea that you should open the event and cut the cord that keeps Mr P's trousers aloft.
