New Sega Copper resto help with payout

Hi Guys,

Picked up a Sega Copper today. It’s the first 20 stop machine I have owned, all my others are old Mills.

Can someone advise what is missing in the pictures please. It’s not paying out and I am sure there is a spring or something not where it should be. If you have a picture of your mech that would be even better :-)

I can't see anything missing.
Did you try it before you paid?
Was it paying out then?
What happens when you force a win?
Do the slides move back?
Is there a coin jam in the slides?
Are there any coins in the slides?
Are you hearing 5 clicks at the end?

If it was working when you picked it up, but not now check the anti-tilt.
There may be two of them.
The main one is a clip that drops down and locks up the Vertical Fingers which stops pay outs. It's often held up with either wire or string tied on by the operator.
The lesser one (if fitted) is underneath and covers the coin exit if jolted, it's spring loaded and flicks across to stop coins exiting if mech is abused.

All good now, coin slides removed, cleaned and reassembled. As I am not familiar with Sega mecs I assumed (wrongly) that there were a couple of springs missing on hooks.

This is also my first escalator so having a tinker with that now.

Well done so far.
I'm puzzled as to why it has half the trip for a side vendor attached.
I've never seen a Sega fitted with a side vendor before.
Are the casting serial numbers Mills or Sega?
You mention the escalator needing a fiddle, what's the problem with it?

The escalator was just full of crap and grease. I have stripped it down, cleaned, polished and replaced. All working as it should now.

The reward card has come up well, just need to repaint the symbols. I guess the yellow hand written number on the reverse is an original part number.

Is that a full Mills/Sega type escalator that runs on 1d? If so, it's quite rare. Full escalators never ran well on 1d. It’s a big and often dirty coin and most 1d machines were converted to Shefras roll down escalators so nice to have the full one (if that's what it is, can't quite see in the photo).

Yes I think it is an original and it works perfectly after a good clean. Here are a couple of pics. Let me know what you think.
