Weight of Bandits

Post by cheeky »

I’ll begin with a few but does anyone know the weights of other bandits?

Sega Continental 60Kg
Bally (smaller bandits) 65kg
Sega lite-ups?
Sega Windsor?
Mills?

I have never weighed a bandit, but judge by other things I might pick up, like bags of spuds and then conclude ; that’s effing heavy, or me eyes are popping out me skull.

Now what would needed to be applied to the list is an age index, so what machines you can own based on your age and ability to get the into your house. Serious consideration as when you start collecting and lift a few continentals into the living room, the in 10 years they maybe staying there when you decide to move :HaHa:

Now I know why as you get older you start collecting Allwins !!ESCAPE!!

Brilliant. That is so true. I wonder if that’s why Mills hi-tops are so popular. Comparatively speaking they’re relatively light. Ask me that again in another 10 years. |/XX\|

Very true John, I think it could also involve lack of bowel control, vis-a-vis the involuntary evacuation of malodorous air, which could also be a resulting factor.

The only time I measured a bandit was for shipping a Tura Bell via Fed-ex from The Nelson Inn to California'land.

The courier requested weight including Tare (???) and volume.
I suggested 8 stone and 4.84499896 pounds including some Tare and its volume went up to 11.
They were happy with the weight thingy but weren't fans of Spinal Tap and requested something that gave an idea of how much outline it had.
Being a publican I estimated it to be about a kilderkin or 18 gallons which translated to 81.829656 ltres in the old money. To be helpful I converted that into US Gallons which resulted in a headache and 21.6171082.
That seemed to satisfy them, alternatively they'd given up on me.

I think Dora Bryan was the headmistress. I think the lady carrying the bandit was the games mistress. According to google her name was Maggie Rennie.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

makes sense, the average games mistress at a girl's public school in the 50's WOULD be able to carry a Jennings on her shoulder (plus 2 hockey sticks)

I'm amazed to hear a Bally weighs more than a Continental. The first time I tried to lift one of those I thought it was still bolted to the bench! I once bought two from a guy who lived in a second story council flat(concrete stairs and no lift). I was over 60 at the time and it all but killed me getting them down those stairs, but the guy who sold them was in tears when I left...he hadn't known you could remove the mech when he carried them up the stairs.
