Re: Ediston Automatics
Looking back at the old posts it's interesting that we (A) all liked the look of the machine but (B) all decided it was a boring con, BUT when you look closer the play is actually no different at all from say, a Jamiesons "Rotolite or "Autofruit" and we all (I think) love those. I can understand from an operator's point of view that they were a poor "space = profit" but in fact, the Jamiesons "Roulette" and "Strike" floor machines took up the same floor space as these so I guess they were a poor option for an operator as well. Strange how we all took against the Edistan machine. There must be something about the look of the play that gives a bad feel.
Re: Ediston Automatics
I have an EdiStan Skittles, and a Greyhound Stadium by the same maker.
Both are electric 'GPO-type' flashers, in the same manner as Jamiesons.

Re: Ediston Automatics
Do you have a picture of the Greyhound Stadium?
I think, as Gameswat said, the problem is it looks more interesting to play than it is, hence the disappointment.
Re: Edistan Automatics Skittles
Thank you chaps. Hopefully we’ll see some photos of the Greyhound machine and in time, I’m sure more Edistan machines will surface.

Re: Edistan Automatics Skittles
There was a game similar in principle to the Skittles, cheekily called 'Wheel Em In', and pretending to offer some of the roll coin action of Streets' game of that name. It was labelled 'Electromatic', but looks to be from the same stable.

I've spoken to the chap on Facebook. The electrics look in good clean condition from the limited photos, though there is evidence of wood worm around the frame for the viewing area.
He'll pop it on a pallet for £130. £400 delivered didn't sound out of the way but I have no time or knowledge of how to fix it.

Out of interest, this machine sold at auction in Ireland, 16 November, 2017 for £60.
