On Ebay you say. Hmm. Can't see it. Really interesting to see all those old machines. I'd forgotten how many different sweetie ones they made. :o

Aero Choc with fabulous sign

Post by john t peterson »

The link is to a Ruffler & Walker (Whales) "Aero Choc" up for auction on Ebay-US. The opening price assures that it will not sell. What is interesting is not the machine but rather a cardboard advertising sign that accompanies the machine. Take a look.

Definitely like the sign. Maybe it quadruples the price of a machine. !SMARTY!

Sounds like you've sussed out you can keep adding picture files, but I suspect you've tripped over the file size limit fairy who stays hidden happily watching you add files then chops what you're trying to send. It can be a remarkably small file it allows through .... sometimes ..... perhaps.

I've merged your two posts. File size limit should not have been a problem - I've set the limit very generously so we can upload high res. stuff when required. For normal purposes though, I recommend that individual files don't exceed 300 KB. This makes them easier to view, saves disc space and bandwidth and prevents pages from loading too slowly.

Your 3 pics came in at just over 400KB, so no problem there. More likely something went wrong when composing your post. see How to Upload Images.

TRY YOUR LUCK....MADE BY ......????

Post by scottie »

Moved & merged - Site Admin.

HELLO everyone,
This allwin, which I believe to be called "Try Your Luck " has a small oval metal name plate on the bottom right hand corner (by the ball hole). It says 'Kraft'.
I looked in Paul Braithwaite's book and there is no mention of an allwin called Try Your Luck by Kraft......
Any input would be great as to who made it and when.
Thanks,
Scottie.

I'm voting for Ruffler & Walker. It looks like one of their sweets machines tarted up as a gold-themed allwin. The top flash is not legible. Is it for sweets?

Gotta be Ruffler and Walker for sure. Nobody would've been crazy enough to have copied their style since it's so much better quality than the others in the '50s.

Kraft Automatics had quite a big machine operating business... not sure whether they ever manufactured anything.

I bet Kraft just turned that brass ball release surround with the R & W logo backwards, then added their own badge.

Just to be pernickety I would say Corteen, as I understood R & W to be distibutors, not manufacturers.

But if I was not pernickety - Ruffler & Walker, without doubt.

Scottie, it's actually called "SPORT" and listed under R&W in the Braithwaite book.
