Alloy casting at home

Post by ddstoys »

Hi guys.

Recently been playing around with sand casting Alloy thought some of you might enjoy the process.

One of my games was missing the entire coin mechanism and after seeing a photo of a wonders Alwin with the 1d cast coin entrance I set about creating my own that used the games original holes.

Firstly I cut a piece of Perspex to size marked and cut the holes for the screws and the slot then scribbled out where I wanted the 1d.

Once I was happy enough I started carving out the Perspex with the dremel and all its wonderfull little attachment to make my pattern,

Once the pattern was done I built a box for my sand mould and made the the mould

Fires up the old home made furnace melted down a few old cans and made myself a coin entrance.

Hopefully this video works and I’ll attach a few photos

Cool, you might want to get some longer grips :!:

I get splatted with video suggestions on Facebook and for some reason gets lots of people pouring molten metal into or on unusual items like water melons etc...I see you were kitted up, I would want a remote control robot to operate the thing

It’s freezing here so shrinkage is already at maximum hahah

This one I didn’t really need to as it was just something I made up.

But definately need to bulk thinks up more from here on
