Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated machines
I realise I have been in this game too long when I recognise machines been up for sale in every auction.....anyway I see some or maybe all of the machines are online now, some of which were sold only last year at the elephant ......
Although I have mainly Irish heritage, I think they should have left leprechauns in Ireland or maybe even the US good luck with the sale

They are on saleroom.com with estimates that suggest you will not grab a bargain
However, if after a particular machine, there's a couple of rarer ish machines there.

Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated machines
18%+VAT is on the low side when it comes to auction houses. My local one is 30%, or if you want to bid live on the saleroom.com it's 36%. We have been a bit spoiled by our two specialised slot auctions at 10%. Long may it continue.

Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated machines
Looks like cottees must have read my post! It's 10 % buyers' premium.
Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated machines
Ha ha ha, well done. Perhaps they might want to review some of the estimates to attract buyers...I am a great believer in making a buyer think they could get a bargain, draw them in and then hope auction fever kicks in. At least half these lots sold at collectors auctions only a year ago at the Peter Wilson sale and in the same month the Elephant House. They didn’t go cheap then, so we will see, but think a few are way too top heavy, but I guess seller is hoping to get their money back.
Yesterday a sale at Elite auctions had 45 lots of fairground and machines, all with crazy estimates, most did not sell so auctioneer must have been disappointed as were keys lots in the sale....
There is one machine I fancy
Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated machines
I completely forgot about the auction and watched the last lot being sold. Seems most made estimates and above, apart from a few top end machines......anyone know if the leprechaun was composite or wood. I assume this came from Royal Bell...
