Man United special edition Sega bandit

Post by coppinpr »

Now here is something a bit different, I wonder what the history of this machine is. Can it be dated by the faces on the reel strips? Football is a mystery I have no interest in, so they are all unknown to me, (ah, just noticed it's the 50th-anniversary edition, so 1968 then?)

Google suggests that Gerald Perego & Co. Burry Port was a snooker hall, and that Gerald Perego himself was a bit of an entrepreneur. So I'd guess an in-house conversion, possibly a one off?

Maybe it will sell this time around... It didn't sell the previous two times it was listed. Seen a Sega before in United colours, that had same poor quality character reelstrips. Not sure if it's the same one, or this is another.

Reserve not met, and the blurb says £995.

So the chances of it selling this time? ....... zilch to bugger all, I reckon.

It’s bloody awful, Eric Cantona on the reel strips means it’s from after 1992 when he signed for them.

I wondered if that was Cantona which even to a football ignorant git like me rang alarm bells.

Seen a few custom Segas over the years, a Spurs edition, West Ham and Chelsea. I think non-collectors just like the machines and want it to fit their man-cave and interests.
