Birnbeck Pier - Proposed Renovation
Birnbeck Pier - Proposed Renovation
Looks as if the pier will finally be renovated, North Somerset Council are to purchase the pier from CNM Estates and hope to re-establish the RNLI station on the pier. That's going to cost a bomb to put back together !
Lets hope it finally happens, see link below:

Re: Birnbeck Pier - Proposed Renovation
The RNLI agreed to pay a large part of it some time ago so that will soften the blow.
Re: Birnbeck Pier - Proposed Renovation
I live in Cheddar and regularly walk along Weston-super-Mare seafront to Birnbeck Pier. I must admit that I thought it would never get the go ahead to be restored. It is very dilapidated and the restoration cost must be astronomical. So it is excellent news to see this post. It would be a great place for an amusement machine museum! Cheers. Bruce.
