Question from Yankeeland

Post by john t peterson »

Please indulge me for a question off topic. I've been wondering about this for years. When we Yanks wave our hand, we spread our fingers and wave the whole arm, sort of like a metronome. Watching the Royals, I note that they keep their arm pretty much stationary and just wag the pressed fingers left and right, sort of like a hand twister. Is this just a royal custom or do you all do this?

Seems they do it to avoid repetitive stress syndrome.
Personally I wave my whole arm, and with my fist closed. That way I don't drop the wooden club with the nails hammered through.
