Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated Machines
Agreed. Are there plans for regular slot auctions at Cottees?
Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated Machines
The catalogue listing states commission of between 21.6% and 25.2%
Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated Machines
Maybe for sign and slots 10%.....but good value for an auction house. Looking forward to see what else is listed

Is this single collector machines plus any others now adding to it?

Wareham, Dorset.........what a ridiculous place to hold an auction.
Is it at Monkey World?

Nice circle skill I think the estimate needs to be divided by 2

Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated Machines
I think if it was a closer I would be going. It's good to see an old fashioned go on the day auction. VERY FEW AND FAR BETWEEN.... the good old days
Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated Machines
And there you go, all the banging on about in person auctions..... someone holds one and it's 'too far'.
It would appear to be a no-win situation, and in such a niche world you aren't going to get many 'having a go'.

Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated Machines
If there was a particular machine I wanted I'd be there. Years back I attended the Salisbury one in that direction and came back with a few. For me it's a good way to go for a look. I think it's excellent that live auctions are back so it's a win win.
Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated Machines
Doesn’t matter where it is held in the country, not everyone will be happy. The key here on this is % rates, so good on Cottees… Sets a precedent IMO and you can attend if you choose… Maybe other auctions houses can be urged to change as well, including up north.

Re: Cottees Auction of coin operated Machines
Didn't another auction house have a number of machines consigned @ 10% buyers commission, fairly recently, but only on the machines? I think if I was consigning 30 odd machines to my local auction I would be negotiating some similar kind of deal to drive bids up and reduce my commission, especially in the current climate.

I think the buyers % is 18% plus VAT.
And a few of the allwins look like they are similar to the ones in the Spicers sale.

The buyers and sellers premium for this auction is 10% + VAT. Items can be bought online or in the room.
