Jennings Governor escalator and other parts
Jennings Governor escalator and other parts
Hi,
Just bought a Jennings Governor (Princess) Tic Tac Toe for 6p. I have a few questions which I would appreciate some help with.
1. The escalator is not working and some parts are missing. Could any members share detailed close up photos of this area?
2 Can any members offer parts if required?
3 I would like to fit new reel strips… where can I buy these?
4 Are there any manuals available to buy?
Thanks for any tips or advice.

Hi
I’ve attached photos of the Jennings “Princess” machine I’ve purchased, I’ve just noticed there is no JENNINGS logo beneath the Indian head. Is there any explanation for this?
Thanks for any feedback.

Re: Jennings governor
Here's the answer to why your "Jennings" doesn't have Jennings embossed in the bottom front casting, or on the Princess Top Award Card.

Re: Jennings governor
All my jennings are in storage as I'm not in best of health and I don't have a manual handy either.
Hopefully others will help you with close up pix of an escalator. Although may be easier for you to
post pix of yours from many angles and they may be able to identify from your pix whats missing.
Here's couple links for supply of new reelstrips,
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113870543742
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325246716332
If you want original used reelstrips they pop up occasionally on Ebay.UK and Ebay.Com
You don't have contact me on your account, either private message via forum or email.
Others may like to pm or email you directly, rather than post here, to discuss options....

Re: Jennings governor
1. I might have a complete Jennings escalator for sale (I need to check).
2. Parts might be harder to find than a complete one depending on which part.
3. I make all types of reel strips (the first link Aristo posted earlier is mine) contact me direct if you want any strips(its cheaper that way).
4. There is a perfect manual that deals (with photos and text) with every aspect of repair, cleaning and dismantleing the Jennings, but it's expensive (cheapest is on Amazon USA, $35 used) (not UK Amazon). Here is the link:

Re: Jennings Governor
Thank you all for the kind welcome and feedback. I’ve purchased the reel strips on eBay and the manual on Amazon. Please see below photographs of the escalator. I’m also seeking half of the chromed coin chute from inserting the coin to the start of the escalator (at the moment there is a bodged version that dies not work well).

Re: Jennings Governor escalator and other parts
So what's missing from the escalator? Does it simply not work and you have assumed parts are missing?
Re: Jennings Governor escalator and other parts
Hi
Thanks for the feedback.
This is the first restoration of this machine type I’ve done. In the absence of drawings I have assumed parts missing as to my eye it looks as if the escalator is not complete. I’m waiting for the manual which I’ve just purchased to be delivered so I will know for def then.
If you do know these machines I would appreciate you casting your knowledgable eyes over the earlier photos.

Re: Jennings Governor escalator and other parts
The thing about the Jennings escalator is that it is extremely well made but gets very dirty and clogged over time. You are going to need to dismantle it and clean it no matter what. The cogged risers at each end are the key. These WILL be clogged up. You need to remove these and the chain and clean and lube (very lightly and not any part that will touch a coin). Does the escalator work when you operate the mech?
